|It’s been a while since sending out our last e-newsletter in February this year. We plan to pick up on our usual monthly pattern again for the rest of the year.
During the recent general election, the Good Mental Health Cooperative looked at what the different political parties were promising in relation to mental health, especially after this was highlighted as a key election issue by Theresa May early in the campaign.
Mind, the national mental health charity, highlighted some questions to ask local candidates and published a mental health manifesto. In Portsmouth we asked all local parliamentary candidates five questions suggested by Mind, and you can click here to see their answers.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the nation’s state of mental health services and support, here are a couple of recent publications worth a read.
Surviving or Thriving? The State of the UK’s Mental Health from the Mental Health Foundation.
Is there ‘parity of esteem’ between mental and physical health? from the Kings Fund.
The election may be over now, but our aim is to keep mental health firmly on the political agenda for the coming months and years!
In the meantime, do scroll down for more information about events coming up and resources you can access.
Look forward to hearing from you
All best wishes
